Dry white wine, pale gold with a hint of green. The bouquet is fine, elegant, fruity and floral with perfumes of hawthorn and lime. Rich creaminess, sharp and fresh on the palate, and a balanced harmony between acidity and roundness Ideal as an aperitif or with fish and shellfish.

"Les Ruffes" coteaux du Languedoc 2004

This is the winery's basic bottling, an unoaked blend of 40 percent Syrah, 30 percent Grenache, 15 percent Cinsaut and 15 percent Carignan. Dark cherry-red in colour, it offers rustic but appealing scents of plummy fruit and the "garrigues" herbal blend of Southern France. Sweet red-fruit and earth over crisp acidity and smooth tannins come together in what may be one of the best under £6.00 French reds on the market.

Wines from the south of France will always be found on our list because of improving quality and outstanding good value. For another of our wines we have chosen a delicious rose from old friends in La Caunette. Françoise and Pascal, who run a successful organic vineyard, have produced a marvellous Minervois we have featured in the past.
This summer we offer a delightful Rose produced from parcels of vines in the mountains of Haut Minervois (200-350 metres high)
