This wine has a highly concentrated deep colour and is spicy on the nose. Aged in oak the wine gives vanilla, cinnamon and clove in a burst of aromas. Cherries, blueberries and prunes come from this robust concentrated wine. Tannins softened by the oak yet the structure will give great aging potential. Flavoursome dishes, game and beef bourguignon are required for this noble wine. |

Picpoul de Pinet L’enfant Terrible 2004 Dry white wine, pale gold with a hint of green. The bouquet is fine, elegant, fruity and floral with perfumes of hawthorn and lime. Rich creaminess, sharp and fresh on the palate, and a balanced harmony between acidity and roundness. Ideal as an aperitif or with fish and shellfish. |

Domaine de la Commanderie de St Jean Viognier 2004 Viognier is a rare delicate and low yielding variety most famously used for the impossibly priced Condrieu. Showing aromas of honey suckle and apricots, haunting flavour and delicious as an aperitif or with lighter foods. |

| For our latest offer we have travelled through France to the Loire, Cahors and Languedoc. | |||

| Vouvray
wines from the Loire have been out of fashion but are now experiencing
a revival. The Chenin Blanc grape can make dry, sparkling and rich
sweet desert wines. Domaine Aubert has belonged to the family since 1823. Jean-Claude Aubert and his son Didier cultivate 19 hectares on the clay and limestone hillsides. They make examples of all the styles of wine. We have chosen a dry Vouvray. |

| Domaine du Theron was given a new lease of life in 1997 when taken over by Vic Pauwels a Belgium industrialist. He built a new chai with stunning views over the Lot valley. A chance visit several years ago convinced us that we had stumbled on a stunning example of the Cahors 'black wine' made from the Malbec grape. | |||

| DOMAINE LA GRANGETTE
is in the centre of Picpoul de Pinet A.O.C. zone located in the middle
of a "little valley" coming from the Thau basin and seaside
resorts to the historic town of Pezenas. Picpoul is the best-selling
white on the Mediterranean coast, yet little known in France. Chateau de Grezan (see Winter 2002 offer from our archive) is a favourite of ours in the Faugeres region of Languedoc. We regularly keep some wines from this domaine in stock. |
